New Year, New Resolutions, New Business Plan?!
It’s that time of year again, where we sit and reflect on the past year - what we have endured, our accomplishments and our shortcomings. A whopping 32-38% of people will make a resolution to be healthier (go on a diet, exercise more, eat healthier foods, lose weight, etc.), but most fall off the wagon by March. In fact, studies have shown that people would rather remain in an uncomfortable or unhealthy situation than do the work to better themselves – even if they know they will be happier if they did. This same principle can be applied to your business. As you think about your business for next year, are you making choices to grow your business or are you remaining stagnant?
While making the best version of you is always encouraged, we challenge you to think of a New Year’s resolution for your business! Now before you say “pff, well I want my business to grow and/or make more money, that is easy!”, I challenge you to strategically think and reflect on the past year. What was your past year’s goal, what went well, what didn’t go so well, where would you like to see improvements?
A strategic plan of where you are, where you want to go, how you want to get there, what changes need to be made, how you will make those changes, and how you will measure the changes/results/efforts are all important things to consider when wanting to make real, lasting change! So, where do you start? Grab a notepad and start brainstorming. Ask yourself these questions:
- What business goal most excites you for the new year?
- Do you have an idea or two of the direction you want your business to go, but could use a little help and assistance?
- What business goal are you most worried about?
- What tools and strategies do you plan to implement?
